APW - Illinois, "Paillard Non-Magnetic Watch Co, Chicago, USA" marked mvt and dial, 24J, 18S, gold-filled OF original swingout case with locomotive scene to rear, white enamel DS dial, SW-LS, fully capped lever escapement, capped third wheel, jeweled barrel arbor, non-magnetic alloy balance wheel and hairspring, bright spotted pattern nickel damascene with gilt signature inlay to barrel bridge, s#1400107. An attractive and rare top grade private label.
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, excellent cosmetic mvt condition overall, some toning of plate surfaces, scattered tiny dark specks and fine to micro-fine scratches, very minor oxide to regulator assembly; dial with light hl below seconds-register at 6:30, very faint hl above seconds-register, few pinpoint surface nicks, chip tight along edge under bezel extending between 9 and 9:30; excellent hands; case shows light wear, shallow soft ding to rear above locomotive detail, reduced engraving detail, small bits of wear to brass to pendant; tight bow, crown shows medium wear; good glass crystal.
